THE INSTALLATION PROCESS: STEP BY STEP

Step 1: Inspection and measurement

A professional measures the roofline, calculates drainage area, identifies optimal downspout locations, and checks the fascia boards for moisture damage before installation begins.

Step 2: Fascia preparation

If fascia boards are rotted or damaged, they must be replaced before new gutters are installed — otherwise the hangers won't hold properly.

Step 3: Fabrication (seamless gutters)

Seamless gutters are fabricated on-site using a portable machine that extrudes the gutter in one continuous piece to the exact length needed. This eliminates intermediate joints — the main source of leaks in sectional gutters.

Step 4: Hanger installation

Hidden hangers are screwed into the fascia every 18–24 inches. In Miami, where wind uplift during storms is significant, proper hanger spacing is critical — wider spacing increases the risk of gutters pulling away during hurricanes.

Step 5: Gutter installation and slope

Gutters are installed with a slight slope toward downspouts — typically 1/4 inch per 10 feet. Correct slope ensures water drains completely without pooling, which would add unnecessary weight and attract mosquitoes.

Step 6: Downspout installation

Downspouts are connected and directed away from the foundation. In Miami's flat terrain, downspout extensions are often needed to ensure water drains at least 6 feet from the house.

Step 7: Sealant and final inspection
